Statiq Wins BPCL Tender to Boost EV Charging Network in India
Statiq, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has secured a tender from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to enhance the country’s EV infrastructure. This ambitious project includes developing a custom app for BPCL and integrating BPCL’s existing network of approximately 2,800 chargers, comprising 2,000 AC and 800 DC chargers, into Statiq’s platform.
A Milestone for Statiq and India’s EV Ecosystem
“We are thrilled to have obtained the BPCL tender, which aligns with our mission to make EV charging accessible and reliable for all,” said Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq. “This win allows us to leverage BPCL’s vast network, providing seamless and convenient charging solutions to a larger number of EV users. Our goal is to create a robust EV infrastructure that supports the growing demand and drives the transition to sustainable mobility in India.”
Statiq is a leader in developing the technology and software necessary to efficiently operate EV charging stations. The company’s expertise ensures that the charging process is smooth and user-friendly, addressing the technical challenges that come with scaling EV infrastructure. By creating sophisticated software solutions, Statiq not only enhances the user experience but also improves the operational efficiency of the charging network.
Addressing Climate Change Through Sustainable Transportation
The pressing issue of climate change has highlighted the need for sustainable transportation solutions. Electric vehicles play a crucial role in reducing pollution and mitigating climate change. As awareness and popularity of EVs increase, better infrastructure becomes essential. An extensive network of charging stations can significantly impact EV adoption, making eco-friendly transportation more viable and accessible to the public. This infrastructure supports the transition to a greener future and helps reduce the environmental impact of traditional vehicles.
Statiq’s software ensures that charging stations are always online, payments are processed easily, and users have access to real-time information about charger availability and performance. This capability is critical as Statiq expands its network and integrates more chargers into its system.
Expanding the Network
Statiq’s extensive network of over 7,000 chargers across 65 cities, including tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 cities, demonstrates its commitment to supporting EV growth. The company plans to expand this network to 20,000 chargers by 2025. Statiq’s charging stations are designed to accommodate a wide range of electric vehicles, including popular models such as Tata Nexon, MG EVZS, and Tata Tiago EV, catering to the evolving needs of EV owners.
Looking ahead, we recognize that a collective approach is crucial for the widespread adoption of EVs. By integrating BPCL’s chargers into its network, We are taking a significant step towards building a cohesive and reliable EV charging ecosystem in India.
Our Goal: To Make India EV Ready
The BPCL tender marks a significant milestone in India’s journey towards a sustainable and electrified transportation future. By integrating a vast network of chargers and developing advanced software solutions, we aim to set new standards for EV infrastructure in India. This will not only enhance the convenience and reliability of EV charging but also support the broader goal of reducing the environmental impact of transportation. We are planning to install 20,000 charging points across the country by 2025, catering to the growing demand for daily charging services for e-vehicles.
